中文里的“低头”一词，你有没有想过它其实有两个意思呢？一是下巴微收，二是在避免撞到某些“顶”时头部整体向下。

1. Duck your head 低头

Duck your head when you go under the slide.

你从滑梯下面钻过去的时候低着点儿头。

(1) Duck指的是像小鸭子一样，迅速低一下头。

(2) 亦可用lower your head或者直接说duck。

接下来，我们讨论一下“下巴微收”的那种低头，和“下巴微抬”的那种抬头，英文怎么说？

对于0-3岁的宝宝，英语母语人士通常用“往哪里看”的概念表达“低头”、“抬头”。

2. Look down 往下看

Let me see if your face is clean. Don't look down.

我看看你脸干不干净。别往下看。

亦可用：

(1) Look at the floor. 看地板。

(2) Look at the ground. 看地。

(3) Eyes down. 往下看。

3. Look up 往上看

I'm going to wash your neck. Look up.

我要给你洗脖子了。抬头。

亦可用：

(1) Look at the ceiling. 看天花板。

(2) Look at the sky. 看天。

(3) Eyes up. 往上看。

对于4岁以上的宝宝，英语母语人士会使用和中文的“低头、抬头”更加匹配的英文。

4. Tilt your head down 低头

Let me see if your face is clean. Don't tilt your head down.

我看看你脸干不干净。低头。

亦可用：

(1) Put your chin down. 下巴向下。

(2) 省略put your，直接说Chin down。

(3) Put your chin to your chest. 收下巴。

(4) Bow your head. 低头。

注意bow的读音，它作为蝴蝶结和弓箭时，读作[b?u]，而作为鞠躬和低头时，读作[bau]。另外，在祈祷场景下，一定要用bow your head。

5. Lift your chin up 抬头、抬下巴

I'm going to wash your neck. Lift your chin up.

我要给你洗脖子了。抬头。

亦可省略lift your，直接说Chin up。

那么，比“抬头”幅度要大一些的仰头呢？

6. Put your head back 仰头

I'm going to rinse the shampoo out. Put your head back.

我要把洗发水冲掉了。仰头。

亦可将put替换为tilt。

接下来，我们讲讲把“头”趴在…...上，以及随后的把“头”抬起来。

7. Lay your head down on… 头趴在……上

You won't have nap time in elementary school. You can lay your head down on the desk and rest after lunch.

上小学了就没有午睡了。你吃完午饭可以在桌上趴会儿。

(1) 亦可将lay替换为put。

(2) Elementary school是小学一词的美式说法，primary school是英式说法。

Lay your head on my shoulder.

趴我肩膀上。

8. Lift your head up 抬起头

Lunch break is over and class is about to start. Lift your head up.

午休时间结束了，该上课了。把头抬起来。

9. Turn around 转头；转身；转圈

Turn around可以表示转“头”，转“身”，以及一直“转”。

(1) Turn around 转头

Look where you're going. Don’t turn around.

往前看。别回头。

表达别回头的意思，还可以用：

Don't look back. 别往后看。

(2) Turn around 转身；转过来；转过去

Turn around. Let me zip up your jacket.

转过来。我给你把拉锁拉上。

Turn around. Let me do your hair.

转过去。我给你梳梳头。

(3) Turn around 转圈

How many times can you turn around?

你能转几圈？

亦可用spin around。

10. Tilt your head to the side 歪头

You're taking an ID photo. Don't tilt your head to the side. Keep your head straight.

你在照证件照呢。别歪头。头放正。

11. Nod = nod your head 点头

(1) If your answer is yes, nod your head.

如果你的答案是“是”，就点点头。

亦可用If you answer yes, nod.

(2) She nodded yes.

她点点头，表示同意。

亦可用She nodded her head yes.

12. Shake your head 摇头

If your answer is no, shake your head.

如果你的答案是“不”，就摇摇头。
